Water Saves Her

I just happened to be painting a series of paintings for the Art Access plates show all about water when I got this email from poetic Kate about what saves her...

Water. When the whirlwind of my thoughts sucks me out of my body and into the air, when I am fevered and fire-brained and anxious, when I am lost, I go to the water, and it brings me home. Back into my body. Back to earth. Back to the self that lives each day with gratitude and wonder.

I often tell the Father thank you for this water, clean and glimmering as it rushes into my sink and away. But I don't go there for saving and centering. Interesting how different we all are in our common need -
